Alec Jones

Alec teaches regular weekly classes of Taiji and Qigong in Birmingham and South Shropshire, and also offers sessions for individuals and small groups near Ludlow. “I began my study and practice of Taiji and Qigong in Bristol in 1981 with Rising Dragon Tai Chi School, eventually becoming a senior instructor within that school, before founding Dragon Spring Taiji & Qigong School at the start of 2010. I have been teaching Taiji and Qigong since 1984, and running regular weekly classes in Birmingham since 1986.” Alec is registered as a senior teacher with the Tai Chi Union for Great Britain and continues to deepen his understanding and practice of these wonderful arts.

Olwen Summerscales

Olwen is currently on sabbatical Olwen began teaching (Qigong and Short Form) in 2006 and now teaches in Banbury. 'I first encountered Taiji in Bradford in 1989, but it wasn't until 1997 that I joined one of Alec's classes in Birmingham. I became hooked on the physical practice and intrigued by the connections made between this ancient practice and my everyday life. I gained experience as one of Alec's Assistant Teachers before beginning a class of my own, teaching the Short Form and some of the Qigong sets. Being part of a community of Taiji practitioners has become increasingly important to me. In recent years I moved away from from Birmingham and missed regular classes with Alec. My desire to develop a new community of Taiji players led to the setting up of  a new Dragon Spring Taiji outpost in Oxfordshire. People may come and go but we are beginning to be a small Taiji community here in Banbury. Why not come and join us? Olwen is a registered teacher with the Tai Chi Union for Great Britain.

Susanne Lin Jensen

Susanne teaches classes in Glasgow. “I started studying Taiji in Denmark in 1989 and continued when moving to Scotland in 1993.  I became a teacher with Rising Dragon Tai Chi in 1997 and taught with this school until 2013.  Following a spell working independently, I became a teacher with Dragon Spring Taiji School in the summer of 2014.” Susanne is also a Kairos therapist and mentor; Kairos therapy works with energy flows and is compatible with Taiji, greatly helping the process of relaxing, healing and returning to your centre. Susanne is a registered teacher with Tai Chi Union for Great Brittan.  She continues to be engaged in and inspired by Taiji and is fascinated by the continual unfolding process.
